About The Position

Windy City Dog Walkers is seeking dog walking service providers to join their team as self-employed 1099 contractors or independent businesses. The company focuses on walker needs, aiming to provide clients with reliable income and flexibility. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with dogs and enjoy independent work. Service providers can choose specific neighborhoods to work in, accepting or denying service requests to build their ideal dog walking job. While the majority of requests are between 10 am and 4 pm, walkers can choose to work evenings, weekends, or overnights. The opportunity exists to supplement income by assisting other walkers. Initial earnings may be lower as routes are built and clients are met.

Requirements

• This is a year-round position requiring an ongoing, long-term commitment.
• You must have a smartphone with a data plan
• You must be at least 18 years of age
• We prefer that you own a reliable source of transportation, such as an insured car or bicycle (this often leads to faster area growth)
• Public transportation and ride sharing are NOT viable options for covering a dog walking route
• Be prepared for all weather conditions - you will be working outdoors
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Willing to submit to a background check

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of dog breeds and behavior can be helpful, but is not required
• The ability to make quick decisions to keep dogs safe in a urban environment
• Capable of walking more than one dog at a time
• Comfortable walking dogs with special medical or behavioral concerns
• Time management is a critical skill to ensure on-time arrivals for all dog walks
• Experience communicating with others via voice, text, and email in a professional setting

Responsibilities

• Perform safe neighborhood walks on leash with instructions created by the client
• Time management to make appointments within designated window.
• Responsive communication to accept/deny service requests
• Communicating with the office and clients via voice/text and email
• Provide excellent customer service
• Give all dogs attention, affection, exercise, and care
