About The Position

We are looking for someone who already loves these streets and lives in the Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Franklin, Bingham Farms, or Bloomfield areas. This role focuses on a specific hour during weekdays, within school hours, caring for the same dogs each week. The job involves walking dogs in a designated route within a few square miles, requiring you to be familiar with the neighborhood and the specific needs of each dog. It's a role for someone who enjoys being outdoors in all weather conditions and is observant of the dogs' well-being.

Requirements

Reside in Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Franklin, Bingham Farms, or the Bloomfields.
Have a genuinely free midday, Monday to Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Own a reliable car, possess a valid driver's license, and have a clean driving record.
Be willing to undergo a background check.
Be physically capable of lifting, bending, and staying on your feet in February (all weather conditions).
Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain.
Be prepared to clean up after dogs.
Be observant and able to report on a dog's condition.

Responsibilities

Walk dogs on a set route in Birmingham and Bloomfield.
Perform 6-8 visits per day, Monday through Friday, during school hours (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
Care for the same homes and dogs each week.
Handle occasional Saturday morning visits.
Identify and manage individual dog needs, such as locating leashes or managing interactions with other animals.
Observe and report any changes in a dog's health or behavior to the appropriate person.
