About The Position

MixyPaws is hiring dependable, part-time, W-2 Weekend Dog Walkers to care for clients’ pets in Manhattan. The role involves preparing dogs for outdoor activities, leading walks and play sessions, providing care according to client instructions, and keeping owners informed about their pets. The position offers paid training and education on dog behavior, paid time off, and 401(k) eligibility after six months. Additional earning opportunities are available through overnight pet sitting and group walks. Typical earnings are $100–$150 per week for approximately 5–10 hours; pay is per walk and varies by visit length and location. The service area is from 110th Street to South Street, east to west.

Requirements

• Be available for some hours between 8 AM and 8 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.
• Be able to commute to and around Manhattan.
• Be willing to take on last-minute requests.
• Be eligible to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years old.
• Be capable of withstanding all weather conditions outdoors and walking for several hours each day.
• Have a smartphone with a data plan for communication and tracking walks.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with dogs and cats is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dogs in each household to go outside with appropriate safety gear.
• Lead 30–60 minute walks and active play sessions.
• Administer food, water, or medication according to client instructions.
• Clean up after dogs outdoors and indoors as needed.
• Send updates and photos to clients and log behavior or health notes.
• Build strong rapport with pets and their owners.
