About The Position

Brooklyn Bark is hiring a part-time, W-2 Dog Walking Professional to provide dependable dog walking and pet care in Brooklyn. The role includes preparing dogs with appropriate safety gear, leading walks and play sessions, and following client instructions for feeding, watering, or medication. Walkers communicate updates and document pets’ behavior and health. The position requires weekday availability for at least two consistent hours per day, commuting around Brooklyn, and walking outdoors in all weather. Prior experience with dogs and cats is helpful but not required. Paid training and education in dog and cat behavior are provided. Compensation is per walk and varies by visit length and location; typical earnings are $100–$350 per week, depending on availability and business needs. Additional earning opportunities are available through overnight pet sitting and group walks.

Requirements

• Be available Monday through Friday for a minimum of two consistent hours per weekday.
• Be able to commute to and around Brooklyn.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and walking for several hours each day.
• Have a smartphone with a data plan for communication and walk tracking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dogs to go outside with appropriate safety gear.
• Lead 30–60-minute walks and active play sessions.
• Administer food, water, or medication according to client instructions.
• Clean up after pets outdoors and indoors as needed.
• Send updates and photos to clients.
• Log pets’ behavior or health notes.
• Build strong rapport with pets and their owners.
