About The Position

Wendell Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time dog groomer to join our dedicated staff in Wendell, just 30 minutes east of Raleigh. Wendell Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital serving Wendell and surrounding areas. The hospital opened in 2021 under the leadership of Dr. Kimberly Foca. Our practice is spacious and is fully equipped with in-house labs, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound. Dr. Foca sees a large variety of exotics patients and is happy to provide mentorship in this area. However, an interest in exotics is not a requirement for this position. Our team is truly dedicated to improving the lives of both people and animals. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in grooming various breeds of dogs. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring the comfort and safety of pets in your care. This role requires excellent animal handling skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Previous experience in dog grooming or a related field
Knowledge of different dog breeds and grooming requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and a passion for animal care
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday
The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation

Nice To Haves

Certification from a recognized grooming school is a plus

Responsibilities

Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping
Assess the condition of each dog’s coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques
Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and recommendations
Handle dogs of various breeds and temperaments with care and compassion
Stay updated on grooming trends and techniques
