About The Position

Morris Animal Inn is a family-owned, award-winning pet resort with multiple locations in North New Jersey, specializing in top-tier pet lodging, grooming, training, and daycare services. We are seeking a Part-Time Dog Daycare Counselor for our Morristown facility. This is a year-round position, not seasonal. The role averages 25-29 hours per week, with shift lengths determined by business needs. Candidates must be available for weekday shifts starting between 6:30 AM and 11:00 AM, and some weekend and holiday availability is required. The starting pay is $16.00-$17.00/hour, based on prior professional pet care experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must love and be able to confidently handle dogs of all breeds and sizes
• A basic understanding of dog behavior and body language
• Ability to read and write in English (for documentation, communication, and safety procedures)
• Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Availability for weekend and holiday shifts (essential as we care for dogs 365 days a year!)

• Prior experience in dog daycare or boarding facility

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage in playful group and individual activities for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
• Monitor dog behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Assist in crafting unique dog enrichment plans.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all pet and work areas.
• Provide daily updates to pet parents, fostering strong relationships.
