About The Position

The Doffer Assistant maintains bobbins on extrusion winding equipment so yarn production can continue. The role removes full bobbins, replaces them with empty ones, transfers and threads yarn, adjusts tooling and processing parameters to meet product specifications, and monitors for defects and machine malfunctions. The position also supports safety, food safety, quality, sanitation, housekeeping, product labeling, and production documentation.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently.
• Mechanical ability to operate equipment and use small hand tools.
• Basic math and measuring ability.
• Ability to identify and address minor yarn placement issues.
• Mental alertness to identify and respond to machine-process, quality, and safety issues.
• Ability to stay organized, multitask, and keep up in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented approach focused on timely, efficient, high-quality work.
• Ability to read and write.
• Knowledge of GMPs, FSSC 22000:2005, and HACCP.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in plastics manufacturing.
• Preferred experience in machinery operations.

Responsibilities

• Remove full bobbins from the winder and replace them with empty bobbins.
• Place bobbins using air guns and scissors.
• Thread yarn positions and transfer yarn so winding can continue.
• Identify and remove yarn wrapped around rollers or other machine parts.
• Remove tubes from the machine as needed to maintain continuous production.
• Adjust tooling and processing parameters to meet product specifications.
• Monitor product defects and machine malfunctions.
• Comply with safety, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Immediately report incidents and unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
• Ensure packed products are properly labeled and documented.
• Complete production reports accurately.
• Follow housekeeping standards and keep the work area organized and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
