About The Position

The project aims at developing advanced conductor transmission cables to replace/upgrade these out of dated overhead transmission lines and to modernize the nation’s electrical transmission & distribution grid. Advanced conductors play a critical role in cost-saving and energy-reduction in electricity transmission and distribution. Students participating in the project will be working on materials characterizations techniques and computer modeling/simulation to understand materials processing conditions – structure – property relationships. This applied project will provide internship students with a very good opportunity to gain hands on experience and engage their further interest in scientific research.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
  • Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident at the time of application.
  • If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test
