About The Position

The student will prepare samples and be trained to use the aerodynamic levitator system. X-ray scattering experiments will be performed at the Advanced Photon Source on the high energy x-ray beamline 6-ID-D. The student will analyze the x-ray data using standard data analysis software codes. The data will be interpreted to understand the structure-property relations at very high temperatures in these ceramic materials. The student will perform advanced Monte Carlo computer simulations to model the x-ray scattering data.
