About The Position

The DOD Skillbridge Project Manager internship supports the Construction team, customers, and other company personnel. The intern assists with directing in-house crews and subcontractors, works directly with customers, and participates in project bidding and billing. The 12-week internship provides exposure to several MasTec Utility Services departments, including fleet, safety, operations, contracts, and field data support. Internship locations are in Texas and Colorado. Applicants must be a separating military member or the spouse of a separating military member.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of project management experience, including internships and externships.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field of study.
Must be a separating military member or the spouse of a separating military member.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer certification.
Project Management Professional certification.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing and leading internal and external project teams to deliver projects on budget and on schedule.
Report and communicate daily with external customers and internal management.
Build processes and teams needed to deliver project requirements.
Coordinate with the Project Construction Lead on the timing, execution, and closeout of individual projects.
Assist Project Managers with weekly meetings involving clients and project teams.
Respond to requests for crews to be assigned to projects and direct crews on the tasks to complete.
Bid and bill each project after completion.
Ensure crews have the correct equipment for each project.
