About The Position

Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is seeking a Skillbridge Intern to manage project schedules and project risk management for several efforts on Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, supporting requirements for the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The intern will be responsible for building, baselining, and tracking project execution schedules using MS Project for multiple projects simultaneously. This role involves soliciting schedule and logic updates from various functional areas, applying them to the critical path, and identifying schedule slips or opportunities. The intern will also own the project risk register, updating impact scores and mitigation/contingency strategies. Additionally, they will set up and lead recurring virtual synchronization meetings via MS Teams, standardize and distribute weekly IMS and risk data, and maintain master project schedules with minimal direct supervision. The position serves as the Huntsville data anchor, coordinating updates and relaying information back to the PMO team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position is contingent upon funding.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years of military operations, logistics, or command-and-control planning
  • Proven ability to manage independent tasks with minimal direct oversight
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (MS Project, Teams, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • U.S. Government Security Clearance at the Top Secret / SCI level

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience building or updating project and program schedules or deployment timelines
  • Hands-on experience with MS Project
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Program, working with risk owners on developing mitigation and contingency plans, and developing a risk register based on the Risk Management Plan
  • Prefer 120-180 days of eligibility for the program

Responsibilities

  • Building, baselining, and tracking project execution schedules using MS Project for multiple projects at one time
  • Soliciting schedule and logic updates from different functional areas and applying them to the critical path to determine slips or opportunities in schedule
  • Owning the project risk register, updating impact scores and mitigation/contingency strategies
  • Setting up and leading recurring virtual synchronization meetings via MS Teams
  • Standardizing and distributing weekly IMS and risk data back to the PMO team in Colorado Springs, CO as well as to local leadership in Huntsville, Al
  • Maintaining master project schedules using MS Project without direct daily supervision
  • Managing the local project risk register and report risks to the primary risk manager in Colorado Springs, CO
  • Serving as the Huntsville data anchor, coordinating updates, and relaying information back to the PMO team in Colorado Springs, CO
