About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Document Management Technician to work on-site in support of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity for a recent high school or college graduate to enhance their resume with the experience of working in the federal workspace. The position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements. Leidos ensures that all provisions are satisfied.

Requirements

  • Able to read and follow instructions.
  • Take the initiative to ask questions when it is necessary to complete tasks correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective).
  • Good typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills.
  • High School Diploma minimum.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Document preparation and scanning and data entry experience
  • A knowledgeable user of word processing, databases, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures for: filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials, and document collection related tasks.
  • Perform intake and scanning of paper claims
  • Data entry on-line to case files and other databases
  • Create witness binders; preparing deposition and trial exhibits proofreading, editing, correcting OCR'd text files; retrieving and printing documents and digital image media; tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents; filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress; and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas.
  • Prepares documents for image scanning; performs other document collection related activities, including document screening, and labeling of files to be scanned.
  • Performs simple database searches.
