About The Position

The Erb Group is one of North America’s largest privately-owned refrigerated transportation providers, specializing in the timely, protected distribution of temperature-controlled perishable goods across Canada and the U.S. This is a temporary 1-year maternity leave contract position. The Document Control Assistant handles incoming calls and inquiries, and completes document processing.

Requirements

  • Previous reception experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
  • Strong keyboarding skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and AS400 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate extension and taking messages when necessary.
  • Greet incoming clients professionally and direct them to the appropriate personnel as required.
  • Open all company mail daily and distribute it to the relevant departments.
  • Accept and sign for incoming deliveries, forwarding them to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain daily records of FedEx receipts.
  • Prepare outgoing FedEx shipments online.
  • Update and distribute the company master contact lists, including telephone extensions (hard copy), terminal locations, and cell phone numbers as needed.
  • Providing training for coverage of vacations.
  • Process terminal paperwork, including removing staples, taping, checking for missing data, and printing labels for all documents.
  • Chart and file imaged documents.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
