About The Position

Walden University is seeking adjunct faculty for its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. The primary responsibility is teaching and mentoring capstone students in an online, distance-learning environment. Faculty are expected to support students’ learning and development, foster Walden’s Community of Care, and help students achieve timely, high-quality doctoral completion while upholding academic standards. Faculty provide regular student communication, individualized guidance, appropriate referrals to university resources, and constructive, detailed feedback. They are expected to understand university systems and policies, research processes, rubrics, and program expectations. Depending on student enrollment and their credentials, adjunct faculty may also be invited to teach content or research methodology courses. Required mentor training will be provided. Faculty should be reasonably accessible outside the asynchronous discussion board and publish their availability through course syllabi, classroom instructor information, or other appropriate materials. Classrooms are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Faculty must be present in their classrooms at least four days per week, respond to student questions within 48 hours, and verify the quality of student submissions while providing feedback and grades through the online classroom. Adjunct faculty supply their own laptops and use Walden’s Learning Management System and Microsoft 365 tools with their assigned Walden email accounts. Walden provides access to the email account, learning platform, password-protected faculty website sections, university and college cloud services, and other faculty communication tools. Reliable internet access and an alternate means of access are required. Compensation for graduate course instruction is $1,560–$4,080 per quarter or semester, depending on course type and length. Undergraduate course instruction pays $700–$2,200 per quarter, depending on course type and length. Actual pay may vary based on job-related factors, including course type, experience and training, geographic location, licensure and certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibilities. Other opportunities may include dissertation or doctoral study committee chair roles, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring.
