About The Position

DHL is hiring a part-time Dockworker to ensure efficient and timely processing and handling of customer outbound and inbound shipments. The role requires compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies, as well as working effectively in a team environment. Duties include sorting, packing, loading, and unloading freight and containers under tight deadlines; palletizing and separating freight and documents; preparing delivery material for shipment; recording shipping and package information using a scanner; and driving a forklift. The Dockworker also reports suspected security breaches or unusual activity to a supervisor, maintains punctuality and safe work habits, and may help orient, train, assign, and check the work of other employees.

Requirements

Driver's license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and 40 pounds frequently.
Able to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch repeatedly.

Responsibilities

Sort, pack, load, and unload containers under tight deadlines.
Palletize and separate freight and documents.
Ensure delivery material is prepared for shipment.
Operate a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents and packages picked up or delivered.
Drive a forklift.
Immediately report suspected security breaches or unusual happenings to a supervisor.
Maintain punctuality and adhere to standard work and safety procedures.
May assist a supervisor in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of other employees.
