About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is seeking a full-time Outbound Dockworker in Pittston, Pennsylvania. The role involves safely transporting freight on and off trailers and verifying related documentation using electronic and manual systems. Dockworkers use appropriate material-handling equipment, track freight throughout the terminal, and communicate with terminal personnel and drivers. The position pays $22.80 per hour, increasing to $27.65 after 12 months of employment. The stated start time is 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours. The schedule may also require flexibility for day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Ability to safely operate equipment and follow company and government safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and communicate effectively.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment.
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight on trailers using appropriate equipment, such as a forklift or electric pallet jack.
- Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
- Use the document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal.
- Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Operate with a customer-service-first mentality.
- Safely transport freight on and off trailers and verify related documentation using electronic and manual systems.
