About The Position

The Dock Worker (Cross-Dock Mix Freight Worker) is responsible for carefully moving packages and materials around the facility. This role involves sorting mixed and floor freight, creating accurate loads for outbound trailers, and performing administrative tasks related to inbound and outbound operations. The position requires identifying damages, reporting shortages or quality deficiencies, and maintaining a safe and orderly work environment. The worker will also be responsible for securing freight for transit and operating an air compressor for airbag usage.

Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Ability to read, comprehend, company’s paperwork and training material.
• Ability to read and write the English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely sort mixed and floor freight creating accurate loads for outbound trailers while keeping a good count of the goods and paying attention to detail.
• Performs required administrative tasks, for inbound unloading and outbound loading.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities.
• Secure freight for transit.
• Being able to operate air compressor for airbag usage.
