About The Position

The Dock Worker loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. The role involves securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center; and inspecting dock equipment before and after shifts. Regular attendance is required. The duties listed are not exhaustive, and operational, safety, or other needs may require the employee to perform additional assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 pounds.
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 pounds or more when required by the essential functions of the job.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable.
• Must comply with company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
• Must interact well with others and work independently or in a team setting.
• Must work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents, including safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions; requires comprehension, concentration, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, be subject to random drug and/or alcohol tests, and undergo a criminal history background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Stable employment history.
• Prior forklift operation experience or previous forklift certification.

Responsibilities
