The Dock Worker properly loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. The role includes securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting; accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center; and inspecting dock equipment before and after shifts. Regular attendance is required. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties, and operational, safety, or other needs may require performing additional assigned tasks. The position requires working in a high-volume environment with tight time constraints and multiple priorities, either independently or as part of a team. Employees must comply with company policies and procedures and be dependable and able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends. The job involves frequent physical activity and exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and potentially high or precarious places, hazardous materials, and varying weather conditions. The noise level can range from quiet to loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
