About The Position

The Dock Worker loads and unloads freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand. The role includes securing freight with straps, braces, and padding to prevent damage or shifting, accurately recording freight condition upon arrival at the service center, and inspecting dock equipment before and after shifts. Regular attendance is required. Duties may include other tasks assigned to meet operational, safety, or other needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 pounds.
• Able to lift approximately 70 pounds or more if required by the essential functions of the job.
• Able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and be dependable.
• Able to comply with company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
• Able to interact well with others and work independently or in a team.
• Able to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Able to read, interpret, and comply with written information, including safety rules, operations and procedure manuals, and maintenance instructions, with strong comprehension and concentration and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing and a criminal history background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the transportation industry.
• Stable employment history.
• Prior forklift operation experience or previous forklift certification.

Responsibilities
