About The Position
This is a part-time Dock Worker position with a shift available from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The role involves loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe, and claims-free manner, maximizing space when loading freight. While not working inside a warehouse, the position requires completing pre and post-trip inspections on dock equipment, properly documenting freight control processes, and participating in company training programs. The role also requires availability for irregular work schedules and adherence to operational procedures.
Requirements
- 18 years of age
- Basic math skills
- Fluent in English
- Able to pass a drug screen
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner.
- Maximize space when loading freight.
- Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment.
- Properly document all freight control processes.
- Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
- Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments.
- Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.
