About The Position

This is a part-time dock worker position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Dock Workers load and unload freight productively, safely, and without claims. Although they do not work inside a warehouse, they must maximize space when loading freight. The role involves inspecting dock equipment, documenting freight-control processes, participating in training and improvement programs, and following the procedures in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual. Workers must be available for irregular schedules, alternating shifts, and/or assignments.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have basic math skills.
• Be fluent in English.
• Be able to pass a drug screen.
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Be able to perform the physical tasks associated with dock and inspection operations, including operating and ascending or descending from forklifts and handling freight and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight productively, safely, and without claims.
• Maximize space when loading freight.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all dock equipment.
• Properly document all freight-control processes.
• Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts, and/or assignments.
• Follow the operational procedures and guidelines in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.
