About The Position
This part-time position involves loading and unloading freight safely, productively, and without claims. Dock Workers do not work inside a warehouse and must maximize space when loading freight. The role also includes inspecting dock equipment, documenting freight-control processes, participating in training and improvement programs, and following the procedures in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual. Flexible schedules are available; the listed shift is Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Pay begins at $23.95 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have basic math skills.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be able to pass a drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight in a productive, safe, and claims-free manner.
- Maximize space when loading freight.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on all dock equipment.
- Properly document all freight-control processes.
- Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
- Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts, and/or assignments.
- Follow the operational procedures and guidelines in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.
