About The Position

The Dock Hand is a full-time, customer-focused member of Freedom Boat Club’s dock operations team at Tarpon Landing Marina in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The role involves greeting and assisting club members, managing vessel check-in and check-out, preparing boats and equipment, and maintaining vessels and the club location. The position requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as well as working outdoors in marina conditions near and on the water.

Requirements

Pass a background check and drug screen.
Have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Have a high school diploma.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have strong communication and customer service skills.
Maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity.
Have a positive, cooperative attitude and the ability to work unsupervised.
Be able to read and manipulate handheld tablets.
Adhere to all safety policies.

Responsibilities

Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette.
Manage the check-in and check-out process using a handheld tablet.
Check equipment to ensure it is functional and on board.
Clean and maintain vessels and the club location according to company standards.
Complete daily clerical work to prepare the reservation system, fuel logs, and weather reports.
Become familiar with local waters to provide basic guidance to members.
Communicate clearly and professionally.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Follow company policies and procedures and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
