About The Position

The Dock Driver - Shipping (2nd shift) operates an electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as a forklift or elevating platform, to move products, equipment, and materials. The loader logs the load sheet, date, carrier, and trailer and signs to help ensure that all products are loaded accurately.

The position works Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The starting rate is $18.50 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential, for a total of $19.50 per hour.

The role requires frequent standing and use of the hands and arms, occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work at heights. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally encounter extreme cold or heat. Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to pass the Snelling vision test.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Move levers and pedals to drive the truck and control the lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, then transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering the lifting device.
• Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Change the battery occasionally.
• Log the load sheet, date, carrier, and trailer, and sign to help ensure products are loaded accurately.
