About The Position

The Dock Door Technician is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining dock levelers, loading dock equipment, and commercial overhead doors. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The technician will diagnose equipment failures, service door components, maintain dock shelters and seals, and complete work orders. The position requires responding to emergency service requests, utilizing maintenance software, and adhering to all company safety procedures. Effective communication with operations and facility teams is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of industrial, manufacturing, facilities, or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting equipment.
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing dock levelers, overhead doors, or loading dock equipment.
  • Industrial maintenance certification, trade school training, or apprenticeship experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain dock levelers, loading dock equipment, and commercial overhead doors.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repairs.
  • Service door operators, springs, tracks, rollers, hinges, and safety devices.
  • Maintain dock shelters, seals, vehicle restraints, and related loading dock components.
  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and equipment breakdowns.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and maintenance software.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, facility teams, and vendors regarding equipment status and repairs.
