About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining good customer relations and supporting the Plant Manager. The role involves managing inventory counts, handling customer calls, coordinating with drivers and distributors, and verifying route returns and money. The Dock Clerk also plays a role in maintaining the cleanliness of the dock office and loading area, and is expected to adhere to the company's Code of Business Ethics, valuing honesty and integrity.

• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• Ability to work in an unfatigued state
• Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
• Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
• Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment
• Ability to cope with sudden changes in surrounding and/or emergency situations and/or alarms
• Demonstrate a caring, committed and concerned attitude about safety
• Possess fast reflexes and unimpaired coordination and ability to rapidly respond to stimuli
• Not mentally or physically impaired from any cause that can adversely affect ability to safely and competently perform required functions
• Ability to take prompt and appropriate response to operating conditions
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write and calculate basic math
• Minimum three months of retail experience
• Must be able to operate cash register and use calculator (not by touch)
• Must be able to bend, lift and carry objects to stock shelves and on occasion move and cut block ice

Responsibilities

• Take daily counts of inventory
• Answer customer calls
• Contact route driver and distributor of service needed in the field
• Help control and maintain ALL vault load outs and load sheet
• Verify company route returns and load outs
• Responsible for company route money verification
• Help control the cleanliness of dock office and dock loading area
• Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management
• Adhering to the Code of Business Ethics
