About The Position

Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Dock Worker Clerk. A Dock Worker Clerk will provide clerical support to the Dock Supervisor to assist in operating a productive shift.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
1 year of office and/or operations experience, preferably in the transportation industry
Experience in using handheld computers/scanners
Proficiency with AS400, SAP and Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support and assistance to the Dock Supervisor to assist with high levels of productivity and smooth operations
Prepare and maintain daily paperwork to move freight including DOT files to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
Prepare a variety of documents and reports using AS400 and SAP
Photograph the loading quality of all trailers
Assists with coordinating freight, information and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency while minimizing duplication of effort
Notify the Supervisor of load cut times and assist in ensuring they are met
Assist the Supervisor in taking all necessary steps in the closeout preparation of a trailer
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
