About The Position

The Marina Dock Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Shelter Island Marina. This role supports daily marina operations and delivers excellent customer service, ensuring guests have a positive and seamless experience on the water.

Requirements

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Reliable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Able to lift, carry, and move moderate loads.
Ability to safely operate a variety of power tools.

Nice To Haves

Basic maintenance or handyman experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, and dock areas.
Perform assigned duties to support overall marina operations.
Operate portable submersible pumps to remove water from boats and dock areas.
Keep docks clean and hazard-free by removing trash, debris, and obstructions.
Assist customers with loading and unloading gear on ramps and docks.
Collect, clean, and organize dock carts and storage boxes.
Coil hoses and ensure walkways remain tidy and unobstructed.
Clean and maintain benches, railings, and other common surfaces.
Prepare and paint dock furniture (wood and metal).
Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including docks, cleats, hose bibs, lighting, and utilities.
Support general upkeep of the marina office and facilities.
Identify and report safety or environmental hazards to supervisors.
Stock and organize marina store merchandise.
