About The Position

This position involves the construction and analysis of CAD assemblies and overall seat models for functionality and mountability. The role requires creating and managing installation spaces, conducting 3D layout investigations, and performing assembly and installation checks to ensure the smooth, functional assembly of parts and components into the overall seat, as well as the installation and removal of the seating system into the flight deck.

Requirements

A minimum of a H.S. degree required.
3-5 years of experience in design work.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in CATIA v5.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of PLM based database systems such as Teamcenter, Agile or Enovia is preferred.
Knowledge about aircraft documentation systems and aircraft configuration control systems is desired.

Responsibilities

Development and updating of the Digital Mock Up based on parts lists and detailed designs.
Performing data quality checks of 3D models according to defined criteria.
Performing BOM comparisons with 3D models, displaying deltas and their functional impact.
Creating or supplementing parts lists based on platform specifications.
Execution of static and dynamic collision analyses using Catia/Teamcenter to validate product mountability and functionality.
Evaluation and categorization of collisions based on criticality.
Carrying out studies on ease of installation, including accessibility of screw connections and installation sequences.
Investigating the installation simulation of seats in aircraft, considering requirements and boundary conditions.
Analysis of the ease of maintenance for defined components (LRUs).
Documentation of investigations in presentations for authorities and OEMs.
Presentation of investigation results to the project team and definition of necessary actions for design.
Support and advice to the design department in developing solutions.
Making design changes as suggestions for design according to clear specifications.
Testing and approval of detailed 3D seat models according to construction documents.
Creation of simplified 3D models for OEMs and customers, ensuring Recaro IPs and meeting file size requirements.
Creation of reduced envelope geometries, generation of motion volume and areas for moving components.
Enrichment of models with features like Eye Point, SRP, CRP.
Making part, assembly, and arrangement drawings according to design specifications.
Checking drawings for plausibility.
Preparation of design data and concept models for prototype production.
