About The Position

Ryan Companies, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Designer II to join our A+E team. In this position, you will primarily be responsible for creating extraordinary design solutions and inspiring design excellence. The role involves working in tandem with clients, architects, design project managers, designers, development, construction teams, and consultants to develop documentation for coordination and construction. This position requires a high level of collaboration, setting an example for others, and establishing and pursuing annual goals for personal, professional, and company growth. The Designer II will also direct, supervise, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of interiors & design concepts, practices, and methods.
  • Knowledge of Revit is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
  • Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Interior Design degree or related field experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in related job.
  • Interior Design licensure.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Enscape, Sketchup, and Bluebeam.
  • LEED AP and/or WELL AP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work in tandem with Client, Architects, Design Project Manager, Designers Development, Construction, and Consultants to develop documentation for coordination and construction.
  • Perform tasks with a high level of collaboration and sets an example for others to follow.
  • Establish and pursue annual goals, based on personal, professional and company growth in the industry.
  • Direct, supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Participate in creating a complete, thorough set of Interior design documents to meet project goals, milestones and schedule.
  • Participate in all phases of the interiors project scope from programming to construction administration, with specific attention to interior related building codes, interior detail documentation and constructability.
  • Participate in development and implementation of an overall design palate that supports the aesthetic, budget, and functional goals of the project.
  • Advise client on appropriate interior finish and material selections.
  • Participate in and lead design meetings, consultant meetings and project team meetings.
  • Independently solve problems and apply basic principles of design.
  • Participate in resolving unusual or complex technical issues.
  • Participate in interior design code review and implement requirements.
  • Participate in Ryan's QA/QC process and project specifications for interiors scope of work.
  • Identify and communicate deviations in project scope and works with project team to resolve.
