About The Position
South Carolina Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center is hiring a full-time DME Coordinator/Cast Technician for an orthopaedic setting in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role focuses on fitting and applying braces, splints, and casts, and requires knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) and a patient-centered approach to support comfort, function, and recovery. The specialist also coordinates with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations before dispensing equipment, supporting smooth and compliant care delivery. The position suits someone with multitasking and customer service skills who enjoys working in a dynamic, busy medical environment. The role is based in an in-person clinic and has an 8-hour Monday-to-Friday schedule with no weekends.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of durable medical equipment (DME).
- Multitasking and customer service skills.
- Ability to reliably commute to North Charleston, SC 29406, or plan to relocate before starting work.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Athletic Trainer experience.
- One year of experience with EMR systems.
- One year of experience taking vital signs.
