WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors from a division perspective. Provide significant divisional support and expand donor financial support of the American Red Cross. Grow assigned portfolio of donors, sponsors and prospects to meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goal greater than $5,000,000. Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives and institutional philanthropy through giving to the American Red Cross. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD 1. Implement overall fundraising strategy for assigned donor portfolio and/or line of service needs at the Division level. Manage and develop corporation and/or foundation accounts for 7 figure donors and more complex donor solicitation that crosses region or division boundaries. 2. Analyze information about potential contributors for strategy development. Make decisions about which individuals and/or companies to target as donors. 3. Implement Division fundraising growth initiatives. Build capacity to identify, cultivate and solicit donors by providing educational, technical and program support. 4. Participate directly in the solicitation of funds from high-level contributors. Responsible for portfolio with target of $5,000,000+. 5. Provide guidance to development staff. 6. Will drive vehicle to other locations. Responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes. Scope: Individual contributor and acknowledged expert both within the organization as well as within other organizations. Participate in industry/knowledge reference groups. Master of a specialized discipline and thorough understanding of a number of disciplines. May also require development of new solutions for complex projects. Regularly interfaces with executive leadership. The position is fully remote. The candidate must live within the Northeast Division. This position is NOT eligible for relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline required.
  • Minimum 10 years of fundraising and/or sales experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of fundraising and/or sales principles and techniques in large organizations.
  • Must have successful track record in solicitation of large fund amounts.
  • Excellent organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation and communication (Interpersonal, oral and written) skills.
  • Good project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of fundraising database systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com).
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

  • Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
