About The Position

Qualify potential donors and develop relationships between Cook Childrens and prospects for philanthropic gifts of $25,000 or more; cultivate and solicit friends, grateful patient families and organizations for significant gifts to fund identified campaign and/or health care system priorities. Supervise Development staff, manage program budget and provide leadership and direction for gift cultivation and solicitation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8-10 years of experience required in high level fund raising, marketing or related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in major gifts fund raising activities and proposal development, OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate accurately and persuasively the themes and issues associated with a pediatric medical center and health care system
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues inside and outside the Foundation
  • A high level of analytical ability and a multi-tasked manner of thinking are required
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Excellent administrative skills

  • Proven ability to produce results in a highly deadline-oriented environment
  • Independence, reliability, accuracy, and expedience in addressing duties
  • Ability to handle pressure, to meet deadlines and to do so with a minimum of supervision or instruction

  • Ability to learn new software is necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred
  • May consider direct fundraising experience of 20 plus years in lieu of a degree
