About The Position

Responsible for the overall execution of Ruler Division Merchandising and Marketing plans ensuring they exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions. Meet/exceed division sales and profit budgets and business plan objectives for revenue growth and profitability. Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective collaborative developer of solutions to business challenges. Serve as a strategic partner, champion, and lead change to create a distinct competitive advantage to enhance the division’s position as a leader in grocery retail. Requirements

  • Minimum Division Merchandiser, Director of Ops or comparable experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead merchandising and marketing teams in planning, implementing, and executing initiatives that align with company policies and practices, comply with regulations, and increase market share.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy to increase brand awareness across various channels (Circular, Direct Mail, Digital, In-store, and Out of Store).
  • Oversee and approve division marketing campaigns, creation, print and distribution of the circular.
  • Lead corporate affairs initiatives to elevate the company’s reputation, manage crisis communications, and enhance brand image.
  • Cultivate relationships with local media, social media influencers, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute earned media strategies/tactics and community marketing/engagement programs to support and enhance the brand, sales, and customer acquisition.
  • Achieve/exceed revenue and profit budgets, including safety and shrink goals.
  • Drive cost-effective sales by executing merchandising plans and improving store departments’ contributions.
  • Understand, react to, and communicate the competitive landscape within the Division and SMSA.
  • Implement and support change management initiatives.
  • Support strong relationships with vendors and the community.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources professionals to recruit, hire, train, develop, and evaluate store management and field personnel.
  • Coach and develop merchandising teams to cultivate a pool of promotable and talented associates.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Travel 33% of time to stores and other company locations for the purpose of evaluating programs and execution.
