About The Position

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is seeking an outgoing and self-motivated Division Manager Category Services to join their growing Commercial Sales team. The Division Manager will provide leadership direction for Category Consultants, facilitate and develop spirit and wine partnerships with major retailers, and focus on applying category management principles to improve retail partners' market performance. This role involves managing the daily performance, training, and development of Category Consultants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Six to eight years related experience
  • Previous on and off premise (retail) sales experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, leads, and directs all activities of category management processes in strategic accounts, including staff training, managing department duties, and directing/assisting in the development and review of department presentations.
  • Directs the Category Consultant in coordinating with sales divisions and suppliers for Wine and Spirit shelf plans and standards, and provides specific market information to assist suppliers in developing mutually beneficial business plans.
  • Informs Chain Account teams with market information and direction about their specific chain accounts, and assists in writing category presentations and accompanying Chain Account Executives during presentations.
  • Directs the performance of analytical research of syndicated market and/or retail data to evaluate wine and spirit performance.
  • Responsible for the overall evaluation of category, sub-category, and product level findings for presentation to senior management.
  • Oversees space planning projects.
  • Manages one or more subordinates, including management and analyst positions, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, and resolving problems.
