About The Position

JRI’s Independent Living and Group Homes provide safe, supportive living environments for young people who need stability, guidance, and individualized care. Our group homes offer structured, therapeutic settings where youth receive comprehensive support, including life skills development, counseling, and educational services to help them build a strong foundation for the future. Programs under this portfolio include Rediscovery House, Journey Home, Lindencroft, GRIP Program, Connecticut Group Homes, Rediscovery Independent Living, Evolution Independent Living and Young Parent Living Program.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, healthcare administration, education or related human resource field from an accredited college or university required, with clinical licensure preferred.
  • Significant experience leading a team through mission, vision, and core values in a residential and educational settings.
  • Experience and ability to manage, supervise, and develop multiple programs and their staff.
  • Experience working with adolescents.
  • Proven ability to form therapeutic relationships with clients, staff and family from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Solid written/oral communication and documentation skills.
  • A positive, supportive approach.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to think “out of the box”.
  • Must be able to travel and to be physically present at all JRI group home and independent living sites on regular cadence and in emergencies as needed for program oversight, support, coverage, and supervision.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the nine group home and independent living programs.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of youth facing social, emotional, mental health, and behavioral challenges.
  • Offer strong supervision and support while collaborating intensely with an interdisciplinary team to meet the treatment needs of our youth.
  • Focus on the development of others.
  • Encourage strategic thinking, innovation and action.
