About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Division Director to lead our Transportation and Fleet Management Services Division team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities Area located approximately one hour from Idaho Falls. You will be managing a team that works a variety of shifts out of multiple locations throughout the region. We aim to be the national leader in creating the most efficient and respected transportation, GSA vehicle, heavy equipment and maintenance service programs across the national labs. Occasional off-shift hours may be required throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 9 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of management experience is required, including: organizational change, proactive leadership, change management, team development, management of managers, etc.
  • This position requires a DOE "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing in a union environment is helpful.
  • At least 10 years of management experience, including management of other managers, is preferred.
  • Exposure to DOT regulations, fleet management and maintenance, logistics and transportation, mechanic shop operations and maintenance, and management experience in a highly regulated environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities through second or third level managers, overseeing professional employees and subordinate managers from multiple disciplines.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to our organization.
  • Manage complex programs that have a critical impact on the directorate or laboratory.
  • Accountable for the division budget, ensuring that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Responsible for multiple functions, organizations, locations, departments, and technical disciplines.
  • Help develop overall goals and long-term goals of the division and the directorate.
  • Establish and administer operational objectives, procedures, and work plans, delegating assignments to your team.
  • Develop, and execute company policies that affect immediate operations and may have company-wide effects.
  • Work with lower and senior management on matters concerning several departments and customers.
  • Apply knowledge to convince other partners on desired departmental outcomes.
  • Typically, all work is performed through the management of others.
