About The Position

As a Division Director of Finance Compliance, you will be responsible for the budgeting, payroll, insurance, tax compliance, financial audit, daily cash management, and internal control activities for TASB and where applicable, certain affiliated entities. You will also be responsible for the accounting and reporting activities of TASB’s wholly-owned subsidiary and certain affiliated entities. This is an onsite position with potential for a limited hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years of related work experience in the financial management of an entity and in payroll and its reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and controls with the ability to pinpoint areas of weakness.
  • Skilled at using ERP and HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experienced supervisor with ability to manage people and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, management, and professional contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets vision and is responsible for planning resources related to division-specific priorities
  • Ensures effective solution-oriented communication with other departments in the organization, as well as with external parties
  • Ensures internal controls are in place and are operating, and that procedures are documented
  • Responsible for payroll functions, including approvals, confirmation of required reporting, tax remittances, and review of provider’s SOC1 annual audit
  • Responsible for the annual budget and budget amendment processes, as well as interim projection updates and summaries
  • Responsible for outsourced internal control reviews, as well as ongoing internal control activities and management of process maps
  • Responsible for all internal financial reporting and external reporting such as IRS tax returns, 5500s, census reports, and various surveys
  • Serves as technical resource to staff and management, including providing a variety of research and analysis on accounting and tax matters as needed
  • Responsible for daily cash management activities and banking relationships, including selection and implementation of relevant bank products and services
  • Responsible for procurement of insurance coverage including, but not limited to, property, liability, crime, and workers’ compensation, and the related administrative processes
  • Responsible for the cost accounting process and cost of services analysis
  • Responsible for the accounting functions and annual financial statement audit of First Public, TASB’s wholly-owned subsidiary and a registered broker/dealer
  • Responsible for the accounting functions and annual financial statement audits for certain affiliated entities
  • Reports financial and investment results to certain affiliated entity boards
  • Product owner for TASB’s budgeting and financial reporting solution
  • Evaluates, supervises, and directs the work and performance of duties of staff
  • Evaluates and manages the professional development of staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
