About The Position

The Springfield Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Division Fire Chief. In this role, you will perform responsible administrative, supervisory, and technical work within a major division of the Fire Department, as assigned by the Fire Chief upon selection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• At least two years of cumulative service at the rank of Battalion Fire Chief
• Valid driver’s license
• IFSAC certification through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety as Incident Safety Officer, Fire Officer II, and Instructor I
• Completed ICS 400
• Professionally credentialed as Chief Fire Officer through Center for Public Safety Excellence
• Maintain professional designation throughout the duration of appointment
• Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States
• Must complete the City of Springfield on-line application in its entirety

• May be required to complete additional training or certification depending on assignment
