About The Position

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Division Chief Engineer for the Electronic Systems Lifecycle (ESL) Division, located in Warner Robins, Georgia. ESL focuses on research and engineering support for the entire lifecycle of electronic systems, primarily for Robins Air Force Base. The division specializes in advancing Electronic Warfare (EW) and related technologies, covering system prototyping, technology insertion, modernization, Test and Evaluation (T&E), cybersecurity engineering, and system analysis. ESL is crucial in developing and enhancing both new and existing systems and platforms.

Requirements

Extensive experience in projects and/or program management (if at GTRI, could include being a task lead with budgetary authority).
Extensive experience in program development, including sponsor relations, writing white papers, and leading proposal efforts.
Demonstrated proficiency in all technical areas relevant to the Division: electronic systems development, software development, system security engineering/cybersecurity, electronic systems testing, and systems engineering.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to research contracts with the U.S. federal government.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.

Responsibilities

Ensure successful technical execution across the division’s portfolio by providing technical oversight and serving as a technical resource.
Ensure division researchers have the necessary tools, technologies, and processes to work effectively.
Work with division management and the division chief scientist to accomplish goals.
Demonstrate deep and broad subject matter expertise in the division’s core technical areas.
Work closely with researchers to align technical efforts with division goals and investments in personnel, professional development, equipment, and facilities.
Maintain connectivity with broader technical communities to ensure internal engineering practices align with best practices.
Guide the division’s technical capability plans by working with division management on division strategy.
Create plans to integrate modern technologies into division product lines.
Oversee division’s training and modernization investments to ensure they support current and anticipated project work.
Work with the Lab’s Chief Engineer and other divisions’ Chief Engineers to ensure engineering consistency and quality across the lab.
Develop new research thrust areas by understanding technology trends and Government spending trends and priorities.
Lead white paper and proposal efforts, serving as the point of contact for collaboration with the division.
Serve on technical working groups.
Maintain expertise and familiarity with enterprise engineering and collaboration tools, advocating for their use to improve process and collaboration.
Assist the Division Chief with technical subjects, evaluations, and task progress determinations.
Ensure the division is compliant with quality management system requirements, including reviewing technical deliverables, reporting non-conformances, managing equipment calibration, and supporting audits.
