About The Position

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking applications for the position of Division Chief for the Division of Prosthodontics in the College of Dental Medicine, Department of Reconstructive and Rehabilitation Sciences, at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. The Division Chief will provide academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Division of Prosthodontics and will report directly to the Department Chair. The Chief will provide leadership for the Pre-Doctoral Digital Dentistry Clinic, Removable Prosthodontics Clinic, and Implant Prosthodontics Clinic, as well as the Division's faculty and educational activities. The Division provides classroom and clinical instruction to pre-doctoral dental students and contributes to graduate dental education through the Digital Dentistry Residency and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency. The Division's educational and clinical activities encompass removable prosthodontics, implant prosthodontics, and digital dentistry. The Division Chief will work collaboratively with faculty and leaders across all disciplines within the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine to advance interdisciplinary education, clinical care, scholarship, and innovation. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development and integration of digital workflows and technologies in prosthodontic education and clinical care.

Requirements

• Hold a DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree.
• Completed a CODA-accredited prosthodontics residency program.
• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a South Carolina dental license or teaching license, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Division of Prosthodontics.
• Provide leadership for the Pre-Doctoral Digital Dentistry Clinic, Removable Prosthodontics Clinic, and Implant Prosthodontics Clinic, as well as the Division's faculty and educational activities.
• Provide classroom and clinical instruction to pre-doctoral dental students.
• Contribute to graduate dental education through the Digital Dentistry Residency and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency.

• Participation in the Dental Faculty Practice and provision of private patient care are expected.
