About The Position

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), part of Foundation Building Materials, provides commercial door, frame, and architectural hardware solutions for commercial, institutional, and multi-family construction projects. The Division 8 Estimator prepares accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting project planning and execution through detailed scope analysis, cost development, and collaboration with internal teams and clients. The role contributes to project success and organizational growth by helping ensure scopes are complete and aligned with project goals.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent combination of construction industry experience.
Two years of construction industry experience, emphasizing doors, frames, hardware, and specialties.
Great communication and problem-solving skills.
High productivity.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with estimating software, such as Bluebeam or EPWS.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A high degree of project ownership, a sense of urgency, and strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare scopes of work and detailed cost estimates.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements for competitive, complete bid packages.
Develop cost-effective and labor-efficient schedules for project execution.
Maintain and update cost databases.
Compile and summarize numerical and descriptive data to present estimates for internal and client review.
Collect and analyze completed quotes to resolve discrepancies before turning quotes over to the Sales Representative.
Prioritize assigned projects and prepare estimates for bid, performing project take-offs when required.
Pursue contract buy-downs from material suppliers and subcontractors after project award.

Perform other duties as assigned.
