About The Position

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), a Foundation Building Materials company, is hiring a Division 8 Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects involving doors, frames, architectural hardware, and specialties. The role analyzes project documents, develops detailed scopes and bid packages, supports project and bid management, and helps ensure estimates align with project goals. The position is full-time and offers a base pay range of $33.65–$48.08 per hour, with competitive benefits.

Requirements

A college degree or equivalent combination of construction industry experience.
Two years of construction industry experience, with emphasis in doors, frames, hardware, and specialties.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
High productivity.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam or EPWS.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High degree of project ownership, a sense of urgency, and strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare scopes of work and detailed cost estimates.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements for competitive and complete bid packages.
Develop cost-effective and labor-efficient project execution schedules.
Maintain and update cost databases.
Compile and summarize numerical and descriptive data to present estimates for internal and client review.
Collect and analyze completed quotes to resolve discrepancies before transferring quotes to the Sales Representative.
Prioritize assigned projects and prepare bids by performing take-off tasks when required.
Pursue contract buy-downs with material suppliers and subcontractors after project award.
