About The Position

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), part of Foundation Building Materials, provides commercial door, frame, and architectural hardware solutions for commercial, institutional, and multi-family markets. The Division 8 Estimator helps support project success by preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and bid packages for commercial construction projects. The role analyzes project documents, identifies scope and resource needs, supports project and bid management, and contributes to efficient planning and execution.

Requirements

College degree or equivalent combination of construction industry experience.
Two years of construction industry experience, with emphasis on doors, frames, hardware, and specialties.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
High productivity.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with estimating software, such as Bluebeam or EPWS.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High degree of project ownership, sense of urgency, and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

Construction industry experience is listed as a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare scopes of work and detailed cost estimates.
Identify labor, material, and time requirements for competitive and complete bid packages.
Develop cost-effective and labor-efficient schedules for project execution.
Maintain and update cost databases.
Compile and summarize numerical and descriptive data to present estimates for internal and client review.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing completed quotes before handing quotes over to the Sales Representative.
Prioritize assigned projects and prepare bids, performing project take-offs where required.
Pursue contract buy-down after project award from material suppliers and subcontractors.
