About The Position

Van Eerden Foodservice, a fourth-generation, family-owned foodservice distributor with over 100 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Sales Consultant. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a profitable sales route by selling and servicing existing customers, opening new accounts, and increasing existing sales volume. The position will service the Michigan communities in and around the tri-city area of Flint. The company emphasizes delivering a great customer experience, rooted in quality and service, with a mission to provide Fresh Ideas, Fresh Products, and Fresh Solutions.

Requirements

Strong Foodservice Sales experience (required).
A strong desire to sell and work on a commission basis.
Excellent driving record.
Great communication and organizational skills.
Experience in Foodservice or Hospitality is required.
Must have had success selling as a commissioned salesperson in past.
Must be willing to prospect.
Must have a track record of being a good closer.
Must have sold against heavy competition and sold at a higher price.
Must have sold to owners, purchasing directors, and chefs of medium to large businesses.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a profitable sales route.

Utilize company specialists, vendors, and brokers.
Sample products to provide and demonstrate available products to customers.
Manage account receivables for all customer accounts.
Ensure cash receipts and deposit slips are handled according to Company policy.

Close sales.
