About The Position

The role of the District Sales Manager (DSM), Joist & Deck, is to actively participate as a member of the division's management team, to ensure good customer relations, while helping lead commercial efforts. This includes active participation in ensuring the delivery of high-quality material produced safely and profitably in the market through commercial efforts. The DSM will work with the division to provide long-term strategic planning and focus on achieving short and long-term results. The DSM will have to personally demonstrate that they act according to the values that make up Nucor's Culture.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in both English and French
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the steel industry
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership qualities
  • Be willing and able to travel
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to Safety in all work aspects
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyze and think strategically to find solutions to unique problems
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer resources to maximize effectiveness and efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing key customers and partners
  • Work with the division to create and execute a business strategy for our product group and for the company
  • Attend and actively participate in industry meetings and events as applicable.
  • Provide state-of-the-art service by developing relationships in all areas of our business and finding new strategic sales opportunities
  • Submit accurate forecasts and solve problems
  • Work collaboratively within the team to motivate and inspire commercial and operation teams
  • Assist its sales team and customer service through the coordination of the engineering, manufacturing and delivery of our products
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and ethical standards
