About The Position

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join their professional team as a District Field Technician. This role involves backfilling field technician positions within the Southeast Ontario region, inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction equipment. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions on customer jobsites, and provide excellent customer service. The position requires adherence to health and safety policies, maintaining documentation, and assisting with priority customers and sites. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience required, working on a variety of construction equipment.
  • Willingness to complete pre-access drug & alcohol testing as needed to enter certain jobsites.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed, and to work on an on-call rotation.
  • Resides southeast of Toronto - ideally in Oshawa, Whitby, or Bowmanville.
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Pride in what you do!

Nice To Haves

  • 310T or 421A license is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Backfilling field technician positions within the Southeast Ontario region.
  • Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment on customer jobsites.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs on customer jobsites.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance on customer jobsites.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service in all interactions with customers.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
  • Maintain access to and assist with priority customers and sites.
  • Assist in the repair of hard down equipment.
  • Assist in upkeeping the Annuals due on contract in the region.
