About The Position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an experienced, results-driven District Director to lead operations across multiple locations in Jacksonville, Florida. The role oversees district performance, develops and supports management teams, and drives operational excellence to achieve blood collection goals and organizational objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the District Director serves as a liaison between district operations and corporate leadership, supporting consistent performance, accountability, and alignment with LifeSouth’s mission and values.

LifeSouth is a nonprofit community blood center serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. The organization operates more than 45 donor centers and 55 bloodmobiles and conducts approximately 2,000 blood drives per month. The position description may not include every duty or responsibility; other work within the employee’s skills, knowledge, and training may be assigned. A criminal background check, credit check, and drug screen are required upon a conditional offer of hire.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of supervisory or management experience; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of budgeting, personnel management, and multi-site operations.
• Understanding of applicable state and federal regulations governing blood banking and laboratory operations.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate operational and financial performance, identify improvement opportunities, and prepare reports.
• Leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to develop teams and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills, ability to balance competing priorities, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth’s driver eligibility requirements.
• Ability to fulfill the position’s on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of daily operations across multiple district locations, ensuring blood collection goals and operational objectives are achieved.
• Lead, coach, and develop management teams, establishing clear expectations and accountability for performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with local hospital and community partners to ensure blood product availability and exceptional service.
• Ensure district operations comply with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen team performance, and support organizational growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing district management team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive district performance through strategic planning, operational efficiency, and achievement of blood collection goals.
• Build and strengthen relationships with hospital partners, donors, and the communities LifeSouth serves.
• Partner with regional and corporate leadership to align district priorities with organizational goals and initiatives.
