About The Position

The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 26, Mecklenburg County, is seeking qualified candidates to provide legal support services to the prosecutors. These positions are time-limited, grant funded, full-time. Funding for these positions will end on June 30, 2026; however, funding is expected to be continued through June 30, 2027.

Requirements

• Knowledge of court system and procedures
• Knowledge of legal terminology
• Knowledge of community resources to refer victims and witnesses
• Skill in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Accurately typing 35-40 wpm
• Skill in answering a multi-line telephone system
• Ability to interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services
• Ability to coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program
• Ability to manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to establish and effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public
• Ability to calmly handle stressful situations
• Graduation from high school or high school equivalency certificate
• Two (2) years of legal secretarial experience
